Focus

Spatial experience & material

Start with what matters.

The fictional brief called for a family home that felt connected without feeling exposed. The response places a planted courtyard at the centre of daily life, allowing daylight and air to travel through the plan while creating moments of privacy.

Let the idea hold together.

Rather than treating the courtyard as a feature to look at, the plan treats it as a room in its own right. Circulation follows the changing light, living spaces open toward green, and quieter rooms sit deeper in the plan. The material palette stays restrained so that shadow, texture, and planting can do more of the work.
